All aspects of this website could be enhanced if I had better equipment, faster internet access, a better work station and more time.
This is my website, I am the author, I decide what goes on it, I make it what it is. In regard to THOUGHT PROVOKER, I create and present the PROVOKER, the issue, I compile the responses and make comment to some of them. As for the Short Story section, the majority of stories found there are mine, though I do seek outside blindness related material to be posted there as well. In addition, I have 5 blindness related novels in progress of which I would like to post at some future date.
All expenses relating to the creation and weekly maintenance of the website are being covered by me. I have bought the equipment on which the website, THOUGHT PROVOKER and the short stories were written on and are maintained. I pay the monthly fee for my internet provider. It is I who spend 16-20 hours per week working on all that relates to this website. However, I could use better tools. Yes, what I have works, but holds me back.
For editing, I could really make good use of a Braille display, preferably an 80 cell so I can see the entire with of the screen all in one piece.
In regard to my present computer, in the performance of many functions I am the faster of the two and often have to wait and fidget. In the area of storage, I often delete, where I'd like to save.
As for my work station, I need a larger surface to work on and more storage, both filing and shelving. This is My work place where I sit and perform all duties. Though it is presently useable, its layout isn't conducive to the working at ones best.
Ultimately to make the best effort to develop the website, its out-reach potential and complete the series of novels and short stories I have started, I need time. This takes a sizeable grant and if not to me as an individual, then possibly to my employer, the Nebraska commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired. They are open to this change, a new position would be created for me and I would concentrate on maintaining and further developing my website and work on all my various writings; numerous short stories and 5 novels in progress and ideas for more.
